Carter Cheng
Carter is a Master of Public Policy candidate at the University of Cambridge. Carter has developed broad experiences in climate action at various UN agencies, including ESCAP, SDSN, and the UNCCD Youth Caucus. During her time at the UN, she co-founded Asia’s first-ever sustainable agritech research platform, coordinated 10+ international capacity-building initiatives, and advised the UNCCD secretariat on its youth engagement policy.
Carter also served as a climate negotiations trainer with the Ministry of Youth and Children of Spain and advised on the drafting of the Madrid Agreement on coordinated youth-led efforts to combat climate change in Europe.
In 2019-2021, Carter researched and taught geopolitics and tech law as a Yenching Scholar at Peking University. She holds an undergraduate degree in International Relations (Dean's List) from the University of St Andrews and dual master’s degrees in Economics and Law at the London School of Economics (LSE) and Peking University.
